Women's Missionary Union - WMU equips individuals to understand, embrace and live the mission of God.  We have four WMU groups divided by age.  Most meet monthly and decide on mission opportunities to participate in or start as a group and/or as a church.

Embrace Women's Ministry is an overarching ministry that seeks to encourage and challenge women in their faith and equip them to pray for and minister to women of all ages, their families, and future generations for the building up of Christ's Kingdom.

Embrace is a Bible-based model of ministry introduced by the Baptist State Convention of NC.  Because it is a model for ministry and not a specific program, this means that Embrace will look different in each church that chooses to implement its design.   At Elkin Valley, we hope that Embrace will fulfill needs that are unique to our congregation of women, while staying true to the Biblical focus of Embrace.

The intents of Embrace are:

  • Evangelism - Engaging women with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 31:20, Matthew 28:19)
  • Discipleship - Educating women to prayerfully study and apply God's Word in their lives. (Psalm 19:7, Titus 2:3-4)
  • Missions - Equipping women to do kingdom work through service locally and globally. (Acts 1:8, Psalm 2:8)

For current Embrace activities, please watch your weekly worship folder.  For other Embrace announcements and resources, please visit the Embrace bulletin board located in the Christian Life Center.
