Stephen joined the staff of Elkin Valley in 2015 as Associate Pastor. In 2024 the church called Stephen to the role of Lead Pastor effective upon the retirement of Pastor Johnny Blevins. Stephen received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern College at Wake Forest. He earned his master’s of divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and his doctoral degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Stephen married Rachel in 2005. They have eight children, Ryan, Joshua, Rachel Beth, Leigh Anna, Elisha, Jeremiah, Abram, and Kate Lynn. Stephen spends his free time with his wife, enjoying his children, running, playing disc golf, and reading.
